In his teens, after being given a recording of Steve Reich’s seminal work Music for Eighteen Musicians, he developed a fascination with Minimalist music – one which ultimately led to the creation of his debut solo album, Gaslight, in 2017. James also writes music for theatre and film – he’s the Music Associate at The Globe Theatre in London, where he's composing and producing music for productions of major directors. Originally from Birmingham, James studied music at Oxford University, where he graduated with First Class Honours in 2011.
